Am I a Good Candidate for Natural Dermal Fillers?

Patients with moderate to harsh age lines or superficial scars are good candidates for natural dermal fillers. Natural dermal fillers are also appropriate for patients who want to restore facial volume or enhance lip volume. Candidates must have realistic goals for natural dermal fillers.

Natural dermal fillers are appropriate for patients who do not want to undergo invasive cosmetic surgical procedures. Filler treatments do not require any scalpels or incisions and do not necessitate frustrating downtime.

Good candidates for dermal filler injections do not have active skin infections in the treatment areas. Patients with active skin infections must treat these before coming in for natural dermal fillers.

Your Natural Dermal Fillers Consultation

During your consultation, we will talk about the improvements you would like to achieve with fillers. Tell us about whether you have undergone filler injections in the past, and let us know about any medications or supplements you are currently taking. We will look over your medical records and perform an examination.

We will recommend the most suitable natural dermal filler depending on your goals and the issues being addressed. We will give you tips on preparing for your injectable treatment session. You can ask any questions you may have throughout the consultation.

The Procedure

The natural dermal filler injection procedure can last from less than half an hour to one hour depending on the treatment plan and the number of target areas.

We will map the target areas based on the treatment plan. The face will be cleansed, especially the target facial areas.

Anesthesia will be administered if needed. Certain fillers come pre-mixed with lidocaine, a local anesthetic.

The chosen natural dermal filler will be injected into the target facial areas. The target areas may be massaged to even out the filler.

After Your Natural Dermal Fillers Treatment

The patient can go home after the treatment. The duration of recovery for the patient depends on the dermal filler chosen and the number of treated facial areas. It is important for the patient to follow the provided aftercare instructions for smooth recovery and optimal results.

The patient should refrain from strenuous physical activities in the first two days after their natural dermal filler treatment. The patient may experience temporary minor swelling or bruising. Other symptoms the patient may experience while recovering include temporary numbness, redness, and palpable lumps.

In most cases, the symptoms a patient may experience after filler injections can be minimized through topical icing or massage. If conditions continue several days after treatment, the patient will need to consult us.

Dermal filler touch-up sessions may be necessary according to the results and the goals of the patient. Maintenance treatments will be needed to preserve the filler’s results.
